Children's Mental Health Services

Children’s Specialty Mental Health Services are provided to consumers ages 0-17 who are severely emotionally disturbed (SED) as defined by specific diagnosis and medical necessity based on level of functioning, and includes those with Medi-Cal or indigent.

  • Nursing assessment of infant at each visit.
  • Breastfeeding support.
  • Education and teaching related to infant care, feeding, and safety.
Optimal infant development
  • Physical and developmental screening (ASQ/ASQ-SE, Edinburg, NCAST)
  • Parenting education and support.
  • Referral for further evaluation of areas of concern.
Strengthen Family
  • Referrals to community resources.
  • Assess and promote positive problem solving and management skills.
  • Model strength-based approach to goal setting.
