Manager's Message

Our team is small, but packs a powerful punch of success. We use our well blended strengths (signature themes or talents) to provide the County with a strong, ethical, and diverse audit perspective. These talents in addition to our professional experience and continued education around professional standards, grants, federal, state, and local governing codes, best practices, and other areas relating to government, provides our team the ability to perform engagements  that supports the County in a proactive manner where management and staff are able to get out in front of the issues, make improvements, ensure accountability, and be transparent.  We provide the County with an independent unbiased perspective that provides management and the Board with additional decision making tools that help them be more informed in their decision making, thus benefiting the Yolo community we serve. 

Our team participates in strong partnerships with Departments Directors and Staff as well as other county stakeholders. We offer our services, guidance, training and consulting with professionalism, trust, and integrity. We do judge (auditor's judgment), but our professional judgment is based solely on our due diligence, being fully informed, testing, inquires, and with supportive evidence, based on a stated or given criteria; we are not decision makers rather recommenders and supporters of the public's best interest.

IDEATION - People especially talented in the Ideation theme are fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena.

ANALYTICAL - People who are especially talented in the Analytical theme search for reasons and causes. They have the ability to think about all the factors that might affect the situation.

NOEMY MORA-BELTRAN,  INTERNAL AUDITOR

DEVELOPER - People who are especially talented in the Developer theme recognize and cultivate the potential in others. They spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from these improvements.

RESPONSIBILITY - People who are especially talented in the Responsibility theme take psychological ownership of what they say they will do. They are committed to stable values such as honesty and loyalty.

BELIEF - People especially talented in the Belief theme have certain core values that are unchanging. Out of these values emerges a defined purpose for their life.

INPUT - People who are especially talented in the Input theme have a need to collect and archive. They may collect information, ideas, history, or even relationships.

DAVID ESTRADA,  INTERNAL AUDITOR

ADAPTABILITY - is the to live in the present, freely and willingly able to respond to the demands and changes of the moment. When things change, people with the strength of Adaptability easily adapt and change—they are flexible.

COMPETITION - People with the strength of Competition see the world around them in comparison. They often compare one thing to another, compare people with other people, or compare their thoughts and ideas.  

CONSISTENCY - People with the strength of Consistency have the ability to see what is fair and equitable to others. Balance is important to them, and they are very mindful of how people are being treated, whether fairly or unfairly.

SIGNIFICANCE - People exceptionally talented in the Significance theme want to make a big impact. They are independent and prioritize projects based on how much influence they will have on their organization or people around them. 

INCLUDER - People with the strength of Includer can sense when people are being excluded, whether intentionally or not. Once they have discovered who is on the margins, they are seeking ways to bring the outsider in.
