It is my honor to serve the residents of Yolo County’s Third Supervisorial District.
I was raised, not far away, in Vacaville. I have lived for over 30 years in Woodland where my wife and I raised our three children.
I have previously been elected as a member of the Woodland City Council serving from ’89 – ’96, and as Mayor of the City of Woodland from ’94 – ’96. I was appointed to the Yolo County Fair Board where I served from 2001 – 2004. In 2010 I was elected to the Yuba Community College District Board and was twice elected President of the Board. In 2018 was I elected to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors for District 3.
I graduated from Sonoma State University “With Distinction”. In 1985 I was awarded a Coro Foundation Fellowship in Public Affairs. I later earned a master’s degree in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco (USF) and completed the UC Davis Executive Program. In addition to serving as a policy consultant and press secretary in the State Legislature, I’ve worked as Director of Local Government Relations at UC Davis and various posts with the Office of the Chancellor.
My primary policy interests revolve around addressing the issues of homelessness, mental health, ag land preservation, preserving water and air quality, and exploring avenues for economic development that are compatible with our way of life and community values.
I welcome and invite your suggestions and feedback. I hope you will feel free to contact me if I may be of assistance.
