Public Input Meetings on Regional and Local Workforce Development Plans
(Woodland, CA) - The Capital Region’s workforce development boards are soliciting public input on modifications to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act regional and local plans. These plans identify strategies to achieve state goals related to workforce development. Yolo County’s Workforce Innovation Board Local Plan, and the regional plan it is a part of, can be found at: www.YoloWorks.org (select Workforce Innovation Board link at the bottom of the page). The current Yolo County plan was approved by the Board of Supervisors in 2017 and is required to be updated on a biennial basis, as is the regional plan. These updates are intended to ensure that plans remain current and account for any changes in labor market and economic conditions, or in factors affecting plan implementation.
Public input meetings related to the Capital Regional plan and the Yolo County plan are:
Thursday, November 8, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Golden Sierra Job Training Agency
1536 Eureka Road in Roseville
Thursday, November 15, 9:30 to 11:30a.m.
Yolo County Workforce Innovation Board
25 North Cottonwood Street in Woodland (Clarksburg Room)
Thursday, November 29, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Sacramento Employment and Training Agency
925 Del Paso Boulevard in Sacramento (Board Room)
The meetings will allow for public input on all relevant topics, but local boards are particularly interested in several specific topics. Yolo County has prepared a set of questions which community members can review prior to an input session, also found at the Workforce Innovation Board link on www.YoloWorks.org. Those wishing to submit written input regarding the Capital Region plan may e-mail: Heather.Luke@seta.net. Input regarding the Yolo County plan may be submitted via e-mail to: yoloWIB@yolocounty.org or by phone at (530) 406-4458.
