Yolo County Elections Office Needs Poll Workers

Woodland, CA – The Yolo County Elections Office has an urgent need for poll workers who can work during the upcoming November 6, 2018 General Election. Up to 30 poll workers are still needed to serve in polling places throughout Yolo County especially in the rural areas of Knights Landing, Winters, Esparto and Dunnigan.

In order to be a poll worker, you must be available to work on Election Day from 6:00 a.m. until all tasks are completed (approximately 10:00 p.m.), have transportation to and from the polling place, and be willing to attend a mandatory training prior to Election Day. Workers must also be able to speak, read, and write English, but there is also a need for those who are bilingual English/Spanish, English/Korean and English/Cantonese or Mandarin.

Poll workers are compensated with a stipend for the entire day, depending upon their role. Precinct Inspectors are compensated $155 and Judges are compensated $130, with an additional $20 for attending the training and $10 for bilingual pay. Additionally, poll workers that work outside of the city they reside in are eligible for mileage reimbursement. The mileage reimbursement rate is $0.54/mile.
