Integrative Pest Management Gardening Class June 6
(Woodland, CA) – Are those unwanted critters and bugs getting between you and your garden produce? The Hanna and Herbert Bauer Memorial Garden is hosting a free class on integrative pest management, which is a low cost and natural approach to reducing unwanted pests in the garden. This class will be held on Wednesday, June 6, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
This interactive class will feature two instructors: Barbara Ohlendorf, a University of California Master Gardener of Yolo County and David Linebarger, the community garden manager and UC Davis sustainable agriculture program graduate. Participants will learn how to identify beneficial and unwanted pests, determine if pests are becoming a problem and plant certain crops together which can help plant health. There will be time to ask questions and discuss common pest problems in our region.
This class is free for all and is part of the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency’s commitment to providing education and resources that help residents eat fresh fruits and vegetables and live healthier lives. Classes are offered free throughout the year at the community garden. To learn more about garden activities and classes, visit: www.yolocounty.org/garden.
Pre-registration by June 5 is required for the class. To register, contact David Linebarger at (530) 666-8429 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The garden is located at 137 N. Cottonwood Street in Woodland, on the west side of the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency Bauer Building.
