Yolo County Library Presents “#MeToo: A Community Conversation”

(Woodland, CA) – The community is invited to attend a facilitated panel discussion on sexual harassment, violence, and the impact of the #MeToo movement on Wednesday, March 14 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Blanchard Room of the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library, located at 315 E. 14th Street in Davis. The panel will feature a diverse group of subject matter experts, including:

• Celina Alveraz, Director of Crisis Support Services and Community Education, Empower Yolo
• Emily Bender, Director of Programs, Sacramento LGBT Community Center
• Mandy J. Benson, M.J. Benson Consulting – Sexual Harassment Prevention
• Violeta Gonzalez, Educator, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte
• Michelle Huey, Sexual Assault Prevention Specialist, My Sister’s House
• Dr. Rana Jaleel, Assistant Professor in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, University of California, Davis
• Sarah Meredith, Director, University of California, Davis Center for Advocacy Resources and Education (CARE)
• Cara Messmore, Crisis and Prevention Manager, Davis Joint Unified School District
• Yee Xiong, Community Education Coordinator, Empower Yolo

The discussion will be facilitated by Shayne Corriea-Fernandez, President and Founder, and Sumer Lopes, Secretary, of Sacramento Women Achieving Greatness (SWAG). SWAG is a non-profit organization dedicated to making a difference one voice at a time through professional development, philanthropy, and influencing public policy for women’s rights. Bring your questions and come to listen or to be heard. Information on local support services will be available and Peer Counselors will be on site.
