Press Release

Testing Site in West Sacramento Extended to June 27th

(Woodland, CA) – Initially slated to end June 20, the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) testing site in West Sacramento, run by OptumServe in conjunction with the State of California, will be extended an additional week to June 27 to allow for additional residents to be tested in Yolo County.

The site recently moved to West Sacramento on June 2 after concluding four weeks of testing in Woodland from May 5 – 30. Yolo County was selected as one of 80 community testing sites for COVID-19 across the state focused on underserved communities. To date, more than 2,400 tests have been taken in Yolo County through OptumServe.

Testing is by appointment only and can be made by calling (888) 634-1123 or completing an online application at: Testing is open to anyone in the community regardless of documentation status. If residents do not have health insurance, the cost of the test will be covered by the state. If residents have health insurance, their provider will be billed with no out of pocket cost.

This is not antibody testing; this is to test if individuals currently have COVID-19. Children under the age of 12 will not be tested at this location due to health and safety reasons. Residents must wear a face covering to their appointment and practice social distancing. This location is not a drive-thru so residents will need to park their car and walk a short distance to the building. OptumServe will be able to test up to 135 people a day with test results available within 48 to 72 hours.

Residents can also call Yolo 2-1-1 for resource information. Click on Governor Newsom’s announcement for community testing in underserved areas. To learn more about OptumServe, visit: For additional updates follow Yolo County on Facebook at:  or Twitter at:
