Press Release

Essential Solid Waste Services Will Remain in Effect

(Woodland, CA) – While the recent COVID-19 Shelter in Place Order from Yolo County is requiring the closure of many non-essential services, the Yolo County Division of Integrated Waste, Waste Management, Inc. and Recology Davis, are prepared to continue solid waste collection services in each of our communities.

The Yolo County Central Landfill, located at 44090 County Road 28H in Woodland, will remain open Monday – Saturday from 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Effective March 29, the Landfill will be closed on Sundays until further notice. The Landfill is only accepting account customers and credit/debit card transactions at this time.

While the Landfill will remain open, staff are serving the essential needs of residents and businesses by providing service to commercial waste hauling companies. Residents must abide by the Shelter in Place requirements and not self-haul non-essential waste items. This is in the best interest of the public as well as the safety of solid waste workers.

The Esparto Convenience Center, located at 27075 County Road 19A, will temporarily be closed until further notice.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Additionally, the Household Hazardous Waste Facility will remain open on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To ensure the safety of the senior and disabled population, residents aged 65 or older or those with a disability may contact the Landfill at (530) 666-8813 to schedule a free pickup of hazardous waste at their home.

Please continue to place your containers at curbside for residential collection on your regular service day. Businesses should also keep sites accessible to solid waste trucks so that they can continue to service your waste needs.

The Big Blue Barn Thrift Store will be closed until further notice. For more information call (530) 666-8813 or visit: www.yolocounty.org/landfill.
