Fruit Tree Care Class January 25

(Woodland, CA) –The Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency is hosting a free hands-on fruit tree care class on Saturday, January 25 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hanna & Herbert Bauer Memorial Community Garden, located at 137 N. Cottonwood Street in Woodland, behind the Bauer Building.

This interactive class will be taught by Bonnie Berman, a UC Master Gardener of Yolo County. Bonnie has a wealth of knowledge about fruit tree pruning, common fruit tree pests and how to control them, as well as tips on how to improve the lifespan of your fruit trees. Winter is the optimal time to care for your fruit trees to help them stay healthy and productive.

Pre-registration is required by January 24 for the class. To register, contact David Linebarger at: (530) 666-8429 or david.linebarger@yolocounty.org. Participants are encouraged to dress for cold weather and wear shoes that can get dirty. In the event of steady rain, the class will be postponed or cancelled.

The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency is committed to providing education that can help residents eat fresh fruits and vegetables and live healthier lives and offering free classes throughout the year at the Community Garden.
