YoloFest: A Celebration of Democracy

Woodland, CA – On Sunday October 20th, YoloFest: A Celebration of Democracy will be held at the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge from 2 to 6 pm. YoloFest is a fundraiser to benefit the Youth Empowerment Summit, a national award-winning program that empowers Yolo County youth and encourages them to say “YES!” to leadership and local civic engagement.

YoloFest will feature live music from local artists, including Barry “The Fish” Melton. Food will be provided by Davis Firefighters Local 3494 and Raley’s and there will be a no host bar. There will be a silent auction, raffle baskets, and other opportunities to donate to the Youth Empowerment Summit. This free event will be held at the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge located at 415 2nd St, Davis, CA. Doors will open at 2 pm, and music will begin at 2:15 pm. The last band will go on at 5 pm.

YoloFest is co-hosted by the Youth Empowerment Summit partnership (Yolo County Elections Office, City of Woodland Public Library’s Teen Advisory Board, Woodland League of Women Voters, Yolo County Office of Education, Early Academic Outreach Program at UC Davis, Yolo County Friday Night Live, Yolo County Library, ASSETs and Woodland Community College, KNOWiNK Poll Pad and HART InterCivic.), the Davis Odd Fellows #129 and the Davis Firefighters Local 3493.

“We look forward to coming together as a community to celebrate democracy and a Youth Empowerment Summit model other counties are looking to replicate. We hope you can join us in supporting Yolo County’s national award winning “YES!” program,” says Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters, Jesse Salinas.
