Community Event at Grasslands Regional Park October 26

(Woodland, CA) – All are welcome to join the Yolo County Parks Division for a free community event on Saturday, October 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Grasslands Regional Park, located at 30475 County Road 104, approximately three miles south of Davis. The park entrance is located on the east side of County Road 104 at the intersection of County Road 104 and Tremont Road.

This family-friendly event will have fun activities for all ages, including: archery equipment and instruction for all skill levels from the Yolo Bowmen Archery Club and Golden Empire Council Shooting Sports Committee; instructional flying of electric sailplanes with the Sacramento Valley Soaring Society; and delicious food available for purchase from Slider Nation Food Truck.

“We are excited to invite the community to Grasslands Regional Park and showcase the various recreational opportunities available,” said General Services Director Kevin Yarris. “Many residents have never been to Grasslands Regional Park, so we hope this event will encourage the community to explore this beautiful park.”

“The Parks Division is in the process of developing a new trail system and dog park at Grasslands Regional Park and is partnering with Yolo Basin Foundation to implement at vernal pool education program at the park,” said Associate Parks Planner Jeff Anderson. “Both projects are expected to open to the public in Spring 2020, so we’re excited to raise the interest and awareness of Grasslands Regional Park with this community event.”

Parking and event activities are free unless otherwise noted.  Please be aware that some navigation programs or apps may not accurately display the park location.  For more information about this event, contact Jeff Anderson at: (530) 406-5038 or visit: www.yoloparks.org.  Connect with the Yolo County Parks Division on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/yolocountyparks.
