Yolo County Seeks Input on 2020 Strategic Plan at Community Meetings

Post Date:02/06/2019 11:50 AM

Press Release

(Woodland, CA) – Yolo County is in the process of developing a 2020 Strategic Plan, which will guide county policy direction and priorities for the next three to five years, and is seeking the community’s input. Along with the online survey, still open at: www.YoloCounty.org/2020-Strategic-Plan, two community meetings will be held as follows:

• Wednesday, February 13, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library, Blanchard Room located at 315 E. 14th Street in Davis.
• Saturday, February 23, 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the Elkhorn Fire Protection District, located at 19396 County Road 124 in West Sacramento.

The purpose of these meetings is to gather input, in an interactive meeting format, from those who live and work in Yolo County concerning their priorities related to the policies, programs and services of the County of Yolo. These meetings are part of a larger community engagement effort which began with the release of the survey and outreach during other public events. All community input will help inform Yolo County of the priorities and interests of the community as the county looks ahead and beyond 2020, and will be compiled and shared with the Board of Supervisors during their March 26 meeting.

“Community engagement is a critical component in the development of our 2020 Strategic Plan and greatly valued by the Board of Supervisors,” said Yolo County Board of Supervisors Chair Don Saylor. “We strongly encourage the public to participate in this process to ensure a path forward that reflects the interests of our residents and the needs of our diverse community.”

For those unable to attend the community meetings, the public survey may still be accessed online in multiple languages through March 5 at: www.YoloCounty.org/2020-Strategic-Plan. Residents will also find on the website more information about the 2020 Strategic Plan and a list of other public outreach efforts where staff will be available to answer questions about the strategic planning process.
