The Yolo County Probation Department will be implementing a Community Review Board and is currently seeking board members. The goal of a Community Review Board is to divert low level offenders from the justice system by making available to them a wide array of community-based alternatives, with the ultimate objective of preventing repeat offenses.
The Community Review Board program was originally piloted in Woodland, and is looking to expand to West Sacramento. The Yolo County Probation Department is recruiting community members now who are dedicated to community reinvestment and prevention work.
The commitment would be one evening a week, every two to three weeks. Those interested in becoming a Community Review Board member should complete the CRB application.
