How to whitelist incoming emails to help ensure proper delivery through your spam filter or junk folder from selected senders. This list is also called the Approved or Safe Sender list.

To whitelist notices from the Yolo County Library use : yolocountylibrary.notices@yolocounty.org and library_Sierra@yolocounty.org

Instructions vary by the email service provider

AOL Mail 9.0 and up

1. Open a message from the sender you want to whitelist

2. Click the Add Address icon on the right side of the window.

3. Click the OK button.

 

Comcast

1. Click Address Book.

2. Click New.

3. Select New Contact.

4. Add email address.

5. Click Save.

 

Earthlink

1. Click Address Book.

2. Click Add New Contact.

3. On the Add Contact screen, find the Internet Information box.

3. Enter email address as a contact

4. Click Save.

 

Gmail

1. Open an email from the sender that you want to whitelist.

2. Click Always display images from (senders address).

 

Mobile.me

1. Click the email address in the header of the message you are viewing.

2. Click Add to finish.

 

MSN

1. Click on Help & Settings.

2. Click Email Settings.

3. Click on Safe List.

4. In Add an item to this list, type the specific email address or use @xxxx.com to whitelist the domain (be sure to replace the xxx with the actual domain name)

5. Click Add.

NetZero

1. Go to Options and click Safe List.

2. Type the email address you want to whitelist in the Add Address to Safe List.

3. Click Add then click Save.

 

Yahoo! Mail

1. Open the email message from the sender you want to add to your address book.

2. Click Add to contacts next to the email address

3. On the Add Contact popup, add additional information if needed.

4. Click Save to finish.

Windows Live Hotmail

1. Open an email from the sender you want to whitelist.

2. Click Mark as Safe next to the From name and address.

3. Now click Add Contact.

 

Microsoft Outlook 2003

1. Open the email message from the sender you want to add to your address book.

2. Right-click here to download images in the gray bar at the top of the message.

3. Click Add Sender to Senders Safe List to finish.

 

Microsoft Outlook 2007

1. Right click on the email message from the sender you want to add to your address books.

2. Click Junk E-mail

3. Click Add Sender to Safe Senders list to finish.

Microsoft Outlook 2010

1. Click the Home tab.

2. Click Junk.

3. Click Junk E-mail Options.

4. Click Safe Senders.

5. Click Add.

6. Enter the email address and additional information if you wish.

7. Click OK to finish.

 

MacMail

1. Click Address Book.

2. Click File.

3. Click New Card.

4. Enter the email address and additional information if you wish.

5. Click Edit to finish.
