With our Read Around Yolo (R.A.Y.) program, the Yolo County Library can provide you with all the resources you need for success. The Library offers tote bags that contain 10 paperback copies of a book and discussion leader materials, including author information, questions, tips on facilitating discussion, and a sign-out sheet to help keep track of the bag's contents.

Hosted on Amazon, this site gives a short history of the major book awards, listing both winners and nominees.

Search lists of bestsellers from independent bookstores by the American Booksellers Association (previously called BookSense).

The New York Times
Find the latest New York Times hardcover and paperback bestsellers, including links to NY Times reviews.

Publishers Weekly
Click on Bestseller Lists to find the latest bestselling Adult fiction and nonfiction titles, Children's books, audio books, graphic novels and more.
Book Browse
Book Browse is devoted to current fiction and nonfiction books. Contains information for starting a book club, including hundreds of discussion guides "with a substantial excerpt and multiple reviews of each book." Also features interviews with authors, bestseller lists, discussion forums, and more. Searchable and browsable.

Booklist Online - Book Club Resources
This site includes book club blog and links to online book clubs and discussion forums, and sites providing free discussion guides for specific works.

This web site has reading guides, ideas for book clubs and book discussion tips. The site also provides information on how to start and run a book club, menu ideas for book clubs meetings and much more.

NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 125,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We’re Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. For school media specialists and teachers there are Picture Book Extenders and articles on Teaching with Fiction. Note: You will need your library card number to access this database from home.

Oprah's Book Club
The web site for daytime talk show host Oprah Winfrey offers this week's schedule, information about Oprah's Book Club, all previous book club selections, topics of discussion, her biography, details on how to become a guest, and more.

A good site for readers advisory in libraries and for readers themselves. This site includes recommended booklists in genre fiction, a discussion area, "hot lists" of forthcoming hardcover fiction releases, and lists of books that received at least one "starred review" in a major journal.

Provides reading group guides for various titles. Users can search by subject category, title, or author.

Readers Circle
"An online directory for book clubs, reading groups, and literary salons of all kinds" in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Search by zip code or type of club (such as social or academic).
