American Medical Assocation
This is an excellent site with a wealth of health information. Look under Patients, Health Information, Medical Library. for information on Children's, Men's Women's and Senior Health, as well as diseases and therapies. This website also features a Physician Select, providing biographical information, such as education and specialty board memberships for listed physicians.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
News releases and information on specific diseases are only some of the information available.

Children's Nutritional Collection:  This site features expert reviewed resource books, storybooks, cookbooks, CD’s and web sites to inspire children ages 4 to 9 to develop healthy eating and physical activity habits.

Familydoctor.org
Health information for the whole family from the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Healthfinder
This is the National Institutes of Health's site for all types of health information and is a good place to start.  

InteliHealth
Featuring information from Harvard Medical School, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and others, this site, designed specifically for consumers, contains health information which has been reviewed and approved by medical experts.

Kidshealth
A large site with doctor approved health information about children from before birth thorough adolescence created by the Nemours Foundation’s Center for Children’s Health Media.

Mayo Clinic.com
The Mayo Clinic's website for patient health information.

Medlineplus
Includes health topics, drug information, dictionaries and directories. A service of the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. In Spanish.

National Cancer Institute: Cancer information from the National Cancer Institute.

PubMed
PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.

Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Online
Published by the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. It contains patient information as well as an allergist locator. Focus tends to be for information on allergies and asthma, rather than immunology.

American Cancer Society

This site provides information on your local American Cancer Society, latest cancer research and newspaper articles, educational material on 44 different types of cancers, information for cancer patients and families of cancer patients, alternative therapies, web resources and an online bookstore.

American Diabetes Association
A comprehensive site on diabetes whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

American Heart Association

The APA offers many free publications related to psychological issues.

Arthritis Foundation
The national non-profit foundation is a starting point and has some educational materials. Includes listings of unproven and harmful remedies.

CH.A.D.D.
An award-winning web site sponsored by the well-known national organization CH.A.D.D. (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Contains online fact sheets addressing such issues as: parenting a child with ADHD, treating a child with ADHD, ADHD in the classroom and legal rights.

HIV InSite
Comprehensive up-to-date information on HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and policy from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicne.

Mental Health Net
This award-winning site is maintained by the corporate information management company, CMHC Systems, specializing in mental health. Advertising is minimal and the information well presented.

National Eye Institute : Includes information on a variety of eye-related diseases and injuries along with a glossary and diagrams of the eye.
