In the interest of public health and safety in Yolo County,
and to improve environmental standards for all, an ordinance was passed
on August 5th, 2008, requiring residents in densely populated areas
to dispose of trash on a weekly basis.

Exemption applications are considered when one or more of the following criteria are met:     
  • Property is a vacant lot with no residential structure
  • Residence will be vacant for two or more months (ie., vacation, property for sale, etc.)
  • Proof of weekly disposal & recycling submitted with application
  • Garbage Exemption Application (PDF)


Assisted Cart Services:

Wheel Chair - Green 

The waste haulers allow residents with permanent disabilities to receive cart collection services at a location other than the curbside or roadside at no additional charge. Please review the Assisted Service Application (PDF) to verify that you qualify. Please mail the completed application to the Yolo County Division of Integrated Waste Management as noted.
