Quick Start Instructions

User Registration.  To get started, view our current Employment Opportunities. Select the position title to review the education and experience requirements for the position, then click “Apply”. Read the Application Instructions, and select the button 'I am a NEW USER'. Follow the instructions to complete your new user registration and an application.

Application-on-File.  If you are not interested in any of our current recruitments, you can still register and complete an application that can be copied later when a recruitment opens for the position you are seeking. Click on the 'Application-On-File' link in the position announcements, then click Apply.

Complete an Interest Card.  You can also sign up to be notified by e-mail when the position you desire is posted. Select the 'Notify Me of New Job Opportunities' button, select the job class titles and follow the screen instructions to submit an interest card. You will be notified by e-mail when a recruitment for the position you desire is posted.

Employee Transfers.  For current Yolo County employees desiring to transfer to a different department, Yolo County retirees, former Yolo County employees with at least one year of service, and Yolo County employees affected by layoff, click on the "Special Appointments/Free Names" link in the position announcements for information about special opportunities available just for you.

Need Computer Access? There are a number of locations in the County that offer free public access to a computer and the internet. The Yolo County Human Resources office has two public computers available for use anytime Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visit us at 625 Court Street, Room 101 in Woodland, CA 95695. Alcohol and Drug Test.  In compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, Yolo County is committed to maintain a workplace that is free of drugs and alcohol. As a routine part of the pre-employment process, all candidates for employment shall be subject to an alcohol and drug test. Additionally, Yolo County requires a background check that includes submission of fingerprints records to the Department of Justice and, as needed, the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
