Mark A. Fink Appointed Yolo County Librarian

(Woodland, CA) – This week, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors appointed Mark A. Fink, MLIS, MPA, JD as Yolo County librarian. Mr. Fink will be filing the position recently held by Patty Wong, and currently held by Interim County Librarian Chris Crist.

Mr. Fink currently serves as deputy director of library services with the Solano County Public Library. As a resident of West Sacramento, he has also been serving as the District 1 (West Sacramento/Clarksburg) representative on the Yolo County Library Advisory Board.

“Yolo County is fortunate to have hired a county librarian of such high caliber, and with a diverse career background,” said Oscar Villegas, Yolo County supervisor representing District 1. “We have every confidence that Mark will continue to build upon the solid foundation that has been established throughout our county library system.”

Prior to his tenure in Solano County, Mr. Fink held positions with the Santa Clara County Library District, Contra Costa Library and The Athenian School Libraries. Besides the Yolo County Library Advisory Board, he also serves on the Solano Community Foundation Board and the Yolo County Library Foundation Board, and holds several committee assignments with the California Library Association. Mr. Fink obtained a bachelor of science degree from Willamette University, a juris doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law, a master’s degree in library and information science from San Jose State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Golden Gate University.

“I am thrilled to join the Yolo County Library, a respected institution that has served our residents for more than 100 years,” said Mark Fink. “I look forward to working with Library staff and collaborating with community stakeholders to enhance our quality of life, honor our county's diverse community and provide residents of all ages with world class library resources, programs and services.”

Mr. Fink will assume his new responsibilities on November 13. The annual salary range for this position is $117,718-143,085.
