May Programs at the Esparto Regional Library

(Woodland, CA) – All are welcome to attend the following special programs held during the month of May at Yolo County’s Esparto Regional Library, located at 17065 Yolo Avenue in Esparto:

• May 9: Afternoon Movie, 3:00 p.m. Children and families are invited to view a family friendly (rated G or PG) movie. For movie title call: (530) 787-3426.

• May 11: UCCE Master Gardeners, 6:30 p.m. Come for a free presentation on “Straw and Hay Bale Gardening.” This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Esparto Regional Library.

• May 20: Park & Read, 10:00 a.m. Join Yolo County Parks and Yolo County Library at the Capay Open Space Park located at 15063 County Road 85 in Esparto. Enjoy a nature themed bilingual story time, fun filled crafts, and fresh air with friends and family. Bring your own picnic lunch. In the event of rain on May 20th, the event will be held on May 27th. For additional details visit the library or call (530) 787-3426. Learn more at  

• May 23: Computer Class: Microsoft Publisher, 10:30 a.m. Learn how to use this fun and useful Microsoft program. Library computers will be available or you may bring your own laptop if it has Microsoft Office installed.

• May 25: Children’s Art Class with Julie, 3:30 p.m. Enjoy a hands-on class featuring silk painting. No reservation required and all ages are welcome.

• May 26: Sacramento River Cats, Yolo County Library Night, 7:00 p.m. Support the Yolo County Library’s Summer Reading program by buying Sacramento River Cats tickets to the May 26 game! Tickets can be purchased online or at any Yolo County Library branch.

• May 30: The Bubble Lady, 3:30 p.m. Treat yourself to spectacular bubble artistry mixed with comedy. This is an interactive program for the whole family.

The following ongoing programs continue in May:

• English Conversation Group, Tuesdays at 1:15 p.m. Converse and improve your English in a fun and relaxed setting with the aid of a group facilitator. Drop-in visitors are always welcome.

• Hora de Cuentos / Bilingual Spanish Story Time (Ages 0-5), Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Children (ages 0-5) and their parents or caregivers are invited to join us for stories, songs, movement, rhymes and finger-plays. All bilingual story times are provided through a grant from First 5 Yolo. Note the new time.

Coming this summer:

• 2017 Yolo County Library Summer Reading Program: Reading by Design! This is a fun reading program for all ages.

• Teen Game Center: Saturdays in June 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Middle and high school ages are welcome to join in a variety of games. Lunch will be provided.

NOTICES: All Yolo County Library branches will be closed on May 29, in observance of Memorial Day.
