Yolo County residents who have lost work because of the drought are eligible for emergency food assistance provided by the Yolo Food Bank and supported by the Yolo County Library.
To qualify for drought food assistance, participants must self-certify that they live in Yolo County and have either less or no work because of the drought. Participants will receive a 25-pound box of nutritionally balanced, nonperishable food, designed to feed for a household of four people for five days. The box will include such foods as applesauce, canned vegetables, tomato sauce, vegetable and chicken noodle soup, peanut butter, dried pinto beans, rice, spaghetti and oatmeal.
This program is provided at the Yolo Branch Library the third Thursday of each month from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Program is sponsored by the Yolo County Library, the Yolo Food Bank and the Friends of the Yolo Library of Yolo.
