Kraft Sentenced for Failure to Pay Child Support
(Woodland, CA) – Yolo County Child Support Services Department Director Mark Jones today announced that on November 2, 2009, Paul F. Kraft, aged 40, admitted three counts of civil contempt for failing to look for work to support his child. As part of the plea, Kraft was sentenced by Yolo Superior Court of California Commissioner Dennis A. Umanzio to 15 days county jail. Kraft was originally charged with 18 counts of contempt that included failure to pay any support for 11 months which totals $6,897 in unpaid support for the charged period.
“The department takes these cases seriously and we acknowledge that times are tough in this economic climate, said Yolo County Child Support Attorney Colin Anderson who handled the case. “However, that burden should not fall on the children.”
